NEW Grants Available Through CARES Act

On Monday, October 26th Governor DeWine announced a CARES Act package for the state of Ohio that includes provisions for new grants for Ohio small business owners. There is also an additional program for individuals who are behind on rent, mortgage payments and/or some utilities. These funds are expected to be exhausted quickly and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The application process for each program begins on Monday, November 2, 2020.

Small Business Relief Grant (https://businesshelp.ohio.gov/pdf/10292020-Small-business-relief-grant.pdf)
• $10,000 grants available to businesses with no more than 25 employees
• Have been in continuous operation since January 1, 2020 (except for interruptions required by COVID-19 public health orders)
• Have a physical location in Ohio and earn 90% of revenue in Ohio

Bar and Restaurant Assistance Fund (https://businesshelp.ohio.gov/pdf/10292020-bar-and-restaurant-assistance-fund.pdf)
• $2,500 grants available to qualified liquor permit holders
• Available to permit holders that have not been able to utilize their liquor permit due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Home Relief Grant (https://businesshelp.ohio.gov/pdf/10232020-home-relief-grant.pdf)
• Available for individuals behind on rent, mortgage, water/sewer utility bills
• Amounts available to get caught up on past due amounts from April 1, 2020 to present

Montgomery County CARES Act

Montgomery County has set aside $40 million just for the county’s small businesses to assist them recover losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Office of CARES Act has created a web-based system to take applications for these grants. Businesses will have until Nov. 30, 2020 to apply, or until CARES Act funds are depleted.

Greene County Small Business CARES Grant

The Greene County Department of Development is distributing financial assistance in the form of a grant to aid small businesses in Greene County with relief from the COVID-19 crisis. Eligible for-profit small businesses that have not already received federal, state, or local assistance, other than PPP funds, can apply for up to $10,000 to use towards the reimbursement of costs related to COVID-19, such as: personal protection equipment, sanitizing products, rent/mortgage, non-municipal utilities, and business insurance.

City of Springboro COVID-19 Business Grant Program

The City has created an Employer Grant Program to help absorb costs associated with the hiring of new employees-for the expansion of business needs due to new COVID demands-and/or the rehiring of former employees whose jobs were cut because of the pandemic. The maximum amount to request is $20,000 and this program is for just for the businesses within the City of Springboro.

Warren County CARES Act Grant Program

The Warren County Board of Commissioners plan to use $1,095,000 of the CARES Act program to fund a new grant program focusing on three classifications:
• Small Business
• Non Profits
• Childcare

$350,000 are assigned to each classification. These funds are to be dispersed via small grants that can only be used according to established guidelines put forward by the Treasury and the programs grant agreement.
